GI Go Fund Completes Historic Weeklong “Midnight Missions for Homeless Veterans” Throughout Northeast US

The GI Go Fund, an organization that works to address the plight of veteran homelessness through innovative solutions, completed "Midnight Mission for Homeless Veterans" in several major cities throughout the Northeast United States in an historic week of assisting homeless veterans. The Midnight Missions were conducted throughout the I-95 corridor, beginning in Newark, NJ on July 26, followed by Philadelphia, PA, on July 30, Baltimore, MD, on July 31, and ending in Washington, DC on August 1.

"Midnight Missions for Homeless Veterans" is a nationally recognized emergency housing program which involves teams of volunteers going out before dawn to areas with high volumes of veteran homelessness to provide food, clothes, hygiene supplies, as well as emergency medical assistance and benefi women's coats ts assessment by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In addition, the volunteers collect critical information to connect veterans to housing through the HUD-VASH program, which provides veterans who are living on the streets housing vouchers that give them the chance to find a home of their own.

Since 2008, nearly 38,000 HUD-VASH vouchers have been awarded to help veterans find homes, serving as an integral part of fulfilling the pledge set out by President Obama and the VA to end veteran homelessness within five years.

The GI Go Fund has been conducting "Midnight Missions for Homeless Veterans" for nearly two years, establishing a 21st century solution to locate homeless veterans and fulfill the President's goal. This unique and innovative method of addressing veteran homelessness has already received national recognition, as it was recently featured on ABC's hit reality show "Secret Millionaire".

Newark Mayor Cory Booker, who established an historic partnership with the GI Go Fund in 2008 by creating the first ever nonprofit run city Veterans Office, said the group's expansion to other cities is critical in providing aid to homeless veterans nationwide.

"All of the members of the GI Go Fund Team are heroes. They have established a cutting edge, innovative, unique model for service delivery," Booker said. "These extraordinary city partners have created a national model that should be replicated."

Mayor Booker's feelings were echoed by U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), who serves as Chairman of the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Housing, Transportation, and Community Development, which helps oversee the operation of the HUD-VASH Program. GI Go Fund Executive Director Jack Fanous testified before his committee in 2009 to discuss veteran homelessness and his vision on what must be done to address the needs they face, one that is being successfully implemented three years later.

"Veterans are deservedly among the most respected and revered members of this nation, but we need to do more than salute them for their duty," said Menendez. "I salute GI Go Fund's efforts to assist our homeless veterans and by sharing their efforts, it's my hope the rest of the country will follow GI Go Fund's lead. We must do everything we can to ensure that the men and women who fought to defend our homeland never know the pain and suffering of homelessness."

After the Midnight Missions were complete, Fanous stated that although the events were successful in assisting homeless veterans, they also showed that the problem of veteran homelessness in these other cities was far greater than he initially anticipated.

"The fight to get veterans off the streets is far from complete," said Fanous. "We understood that these cities were struggling with veteran homelessness, but the number of homeless in these cities was eye-opening. It is clear that our country is suffering from a homeless veteran epidemic, something that cannot be fully addressed through individual events. We will be coming back again and again until we are successful in our goal of not just easing veteran homelessness, but eradicating it altogether."

The first "Midnight Mission for Homeless Veterans" of this run in Newark, NJ was covered by Fox News, seen here.

About T-Shirts

The t-shirt evolved from undergarments used in the 19th century, through cutting the one-piece "union suit" underwear into separate top and bottom garments, with the top long enough to tuck under the waistband of the bottoms. By the Great Depression, the t-shirt was often the default garment to be worn when doing farm or ranch chores, as well as other times when modesty called for a torso covering but conditions called for lightweight fabrics.

T-shirts, with and without buttons, were adopted by miners and stevedores during the late 19th century as a convenient covering for hot environments.

T-shirts, as a slip-on garment without buttons, originally became popular in the United States when they were issued by the U.S. Navy during or following the Spanish American War. These were a crew-necked, short-sleeved, white cotton undershirt to be worn under a uniform. It became common for sailors and Marines in work parties, the early submarines, and tropical climates to remove their uniform "jacket", wearing (and soiling) only the undershirt.

Named the t-shirt due to the shape of the garment's outline, it soon became popular as a bottom layer of clothing for workers in various industries, including agriculture. The t-shirt was easily fitted, easily cleaned, were made in various colors and patterns and inexpensive, and for this reason it became the shirt of choice for young boys.

Basic t-shirts are staples in the promotional products industry and it is important that vendors understand their client's budget and needs right from the start. A vendor's presentation should always include at least three levels of basic T-shirts so customers can see and feel the differences. 50/50 T-shirts are a great value; their low price and durability from the blend of cotton and polyester make them a customer favorite. However, 100% cotton t-shirts offer the softness and comfort many customers want for their promotional pieces. When looking for a substantial and ultra soft t-shirt, 100% ringspun cotton t-shirts are the way to go.

Although the most popular method of printing t-shirts is screen printing, Crooked Brook t-shirts are printed using Direct To Garment Printing (DTG) which is the process of using inkjet printers to print an image directly onto t-shirts without the use of screens like with screen printing, which requires a lot of setup e.g., creating screens for each color. In addition, DTG printing uses eco-friendly, water soluble ink, unlike some screen printing methods that layer Plastisol (a suspension of PVC particles in a plasticizer) on top of the t-shirt. The only requirement for DTG printing is for the image to be high resolution, resulting in photograph quality printing with no setup fee or minimums for custom t-shirts.

10 Business Building Tips

Surviving in business is not simply a matter of being good in business. You need to follow rules that will directly affect how you are perceived by associates. Reputation is your foundation, and it affects how well clients, as well as other business owners, trust you.

In order to give a good first (and lasting) impression, one must learn the proper business etiquette - or the set of written and unwritten rules of cond women's jackets uct that make social interactions run more smoothly. This includes knowing how to deal with people, how to act in awkward situations, and how to save one's self from embarrassment in adversity. Here are some guidelines in ensuring that you always have your best foot forward in any business:

All people need respect. They don't need to demand for it. It is not only the business owner which makes up the entire workforce - there are subordinates who are just as important (and sensitive) as the ones higher in the hierarchy. Treat secretaries and even janitors with respect. They help the boss get things done. How often have we heard horror stories of un-relayed information because the information was delivered by a very rude and overbearing big shot? Isn't it great to get action because people respect you - and not because they fear you?

When meeting people, keep mental notes. Nothing is more awkward than forgetting someone's name - or worse, calling someone by some other name! Try to remember if they even mentioned in past meetings if they love golf, or have twin children. Depth of information is important in business.

Also, there are some cultures which put a premium on titles and rank. Unless someone introduces himself by his first name, don't take liberties calling him "John." Call him "Mr.Yamaguchi," to be safe. It's up to him to mention to you if he prefers to be called otherwise. Asians, most especially want to be called "Doctor" or "Attorney."

Bottonline is - respect people. Make them feel important. Remember things about them that make them feel important (especially birthdays, etc.).

Respect among peers. This is a touchy subject, since it is much easier to be nice and respectful to people who are higher in rank. The safest recommendation is to be courteous to everyone - whether they be a boss, superior, a subordinate or assistant. A lot of businesses fail in terms of inter-personal relationships among staff, because employees don't treat all people in the company equally. Remember that word of your "nastiness" goes around the circle too.

Superiors. It's much easier to be nice to your boss, because your career lies on your relationship with him. But remember that you are only required to keep him abreast of all relevant developments in the company within your responsibility. You are not expected to be friends with him, nor update him about petty things happening in the workplace. But DO keep him updated on developments about your responsibilities - whether good or bad. Never ever surprise your boss, or pin him down to a corner. Try to filter out damaging information before it reaches your superior. Be discerning… and always speak well of your boss. It not only makes you feel good, you will look good, too in the eyes of your associates.

International Etiquette. Especially when dealing with people outside your country, research about customs, traditions, basic etiquette, holidays, language and most especially religion. Don't keep on referring to God, when you are speaking with someone who believes in Allah. Don't require contacts to respond to your email id you know it's a National non-working Holiday in the country where your respondent is. Don't insist that visitors from Asian countries eat with a fork and knife, when you should know that they use either spoon or chopsticks. All of these factors help leave a negative impression so avoid them at all costs - or risk losing business with them.

Be conscious of your attire. If you're going out to a business lunch, leave the cocktail dress with the plunging neckline and thigh-high skirt at home. Your manner of dressing reflects your character. You must be the best advertisement for your company. Iron your clothes, shave the 5-oclock shadow, keep your hair neat and wear clean and appropriate footwear. Also, pay attention to how you smell, because all the best clothes cannot mask an unpleasant odor. It is human nature to want to deal with the man in a coat and tie, as opposed to the knowledgeable but scruffy man dressed in a t-shirt and jeans.

Meetings, phone calls, emails. Always arrive early for meetings. You will have time to brush up on your presentation, plus you also have time to relax before stating your proposals. Be ready with the proper collaterals like business cards, hand-outs, reference materials.

Always be courteous on the phone. No matter how neck-deep you are in work, remember that the phone is one of the ways the outside world and some interested clients can have access to your company. Your tone must always be pleasant yet business-like. That 1 minute call has the power to turn a potential profit into nothing.

On emails, don't be demanding. Try to avoid forwarding a long letter to 20 or more respondents. It makes the entire message appear like a tagging game or a spam, and that sending the mail to the receiver is just an afterthought. Never ever USE ALL CAPS WHEN EAMILING BECAUSE IT MAKES MESSAGE APPEAR HARSH. Right?

Give credit where credit is due. Never forget to thank everyone for their efforts. There is nothing more disheartening than being a loyal worker who is never thanked enough for the success he brings to the company. Even if you are grateful, if you don't express it, your gratitude is useless. Thanking people encourages them to do better. This is another way you can get loyalty and concern from your employees.

It doesn't really hurt to apply business ethics around the workplace. It's your capital on your reputation. Human nature dictates that 10 successes can be nullified by one bad error in judgment - it damages your character and how you are perceived by the people around you. So always be at your best. People will appreciate you immensely for it.

Ingredients Of Sleeping Pills

Sleeping pills could be composed of Herbal products, chemical compounds or synthesized hormones. Sleeping pills containing herbal ingredients can be obtained over the counter, while hormone replacement pills can be purchased at food supplement stores across the country. Prescription drugs would encompass the range of sleeping aid drugs that contain chemical compounds.

The early chemical compounds used in sleeping pills were barbiturates. Benzodiazepines discovered in 1970?€?s, shares many features similar to barbiturates. They are addictive and also produce side effects such as memory impairment. Improved Benzodiazepines were developed in the early 1980s. Zaleplon is a benzodiazeipine sleep aid, which leaves the body quickly. This feature is called ?€?short elimination half life?€? Persons on this drug are able to sleep quickly and wake up within a few hours.

Short acting benzodiazepines include estazolam (ProSom), flurazepam (Dalmane), temazepam (Restoril), and triazolam (Halcion). Midazolam (Versed) and longer acting benzodiazepines include alprazolam (Xanax), chlordiazepoxide (librium), clorazepate (Tranxene), diazepam (Valium, halazepam (Paxipam), lorzepam (Ativan), oxazepam (Serax), prazepam (Centrax), quazepam (Doral), Clonazepam (Klonopin), diazepam, and clorazepate. Sleep medications that are gaining popularity over the last year are Ambien (Zolpidem Tartrate) and Lunesta (Eszopiclone).

A number of non-benzodiazepine drugs have also been developed and sold over the counter. The most active ingredient in the over the counter sleep aids is doxylamine succinate. This is an antihistamine. Other antihistamines used in sleeping pills are diphenhydramine HICI and diphenhydramine citrate.

The non-prescription drugs are not as strong as prescription drugs. However, over the counter, non-prescription sleeping drugs also contain active ingredients that alleviate other medical conditions such as pain. These drugs also have inactive ingredients that bind the tablet, coat it or flavor it. These could be sugars, starches, magnesium stearate, artificial colors, cellulose and wax. There are several brands being sold in the market but the formulas used are largely similar and the ingredients are also similar.

There are a number of chemical and synthetic supplements that help induce sleep indirectly. Some of these are Melotonin, Valerin, Relora and L-5 Hydroxytryptophan.

Melatonin is a natural secretion of the pineal gland. It is normally synthesized form a compound called Serotonin found in the human body. Drugs that approximate to hormone melotonin have been invented to act as a supplement for the sleep impaired. It is sold under brand names like MEL, MLT and N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine.

Valerin is a natural herb that is extracted from the valerian plant. This extract has a calming effect on the person and it thereby helps them sleep. However, this product is used largely for long-term treatment, as it is effective only when it is taken over a period of time. There are no side effects associated with this compound.

L-5 Hydroxytryptophan is obtained when amino acid trytophan reacts with serotonin in the human body. It is also naturally available in the seeds of the Griffonia simplicfolia tree. The extract is given as a supplement to those who have a deficiency of this compound. This compound produces relaxation and alleviates insom women's coats nia.

Relora is a product that is compound of magnolia officinalis and phellodenron amurense. This extract produces instant sleep without any side effects. It is used for overcoming stress and combating health conditions that are fallout of stress.

Gamma Amino Butyric acid is a compound found in the brains of healthy adults. It is formed from a combination of amino acid glutamine and glucose. Stress reduces the production of this compound and induces sleeplessness. Supplements containing this compound are given to persons who have a deficiency in this direction. There are no side effects associated with this compound.

All these sleeping pills are effective, to a greater or lesser degree, and researchers are currently examining sleeping pills to further understand as well as improve the effectiveness. Several of these drugs are short acting sleeping pills while others are long acting ones. So it is important to get the doctors opinion on the type of sleeping pill that would best suit your condition.

How to Sell your Home Fast with Staging

When staging your home, you have to seduce a potential buyer into believing that this is the house for them. While they will want to see a home, they will also want to see a house they could easily move into and live in. In some ways, when buying a house, a buyer is also buying an improved lifestyle, so what you offer in terms of your home has to be an improvement of what they already have.

It's difficult for a buyer to imagine him or herself living in your home if it's crammed to the rafters with your personality. What you may consider design touches, a potential buyer will think cluttered. Go through every room in your home and eliminate anything that detracts from the basic layout. A buyer wants to see the home they're getting for their money and if a room is cluttered it becomes difficult to see.

This is where finding the balance between de-cluttering and showing a home off to its best advantage comes into play: you need to take out all those items that persona women's jackets lize your home, but not too many of them to leave it looking as though no one does, or would, live in your house.

Bedroom

Make sure that the bedrooms look like bedrooms! All too often when selling a house all those items that have been removed in order to smarten the house up get stored in a spare bedroom. This is one big warning sign to a potential buyer that there's not enough room in the house. If you have to arrange for storage in order to keep the house clear, then do so. You will recoup the cost in the sale price.

Dining Room

When selling a house, defining rooms is very important. A potential buyer doesn't want to be confused as to the purpose of a room. For example, if there's a computer and office chair in what you show as the dining room, the buyer is left wondering whether the house is too small for that computer and office chair to be where they should be. If you show a room as a dining room, then make sure that a potential buyer is given the impression that they could actually dine in it!

Living Area

This is the one room that might need to be "de-individualized." Remove anything that might detract from a potential buyer being able to imagine him- or herself living in the room. While it's OK to leave out one or two photos to give the room a "lived in" feel, if your photo collection is big, then trim it out and store the remaining photos. Keep as much of the floor as clear as you can: this gives the impression of space while at the same time letting the buyer see the state of the floor covering (which should be clean and presentable).
Kitchen

The kitchen is the most important room in the house when it comes to selling it. Real estate agents will often tell a buyer than kitchens and bathrooms sell houses -- and they do. Potential buyers place a lot of importance on the state of a kitchen. That doesn't mean that it has to have extremely expensive and fashionable fittings: it does mean, however, that it has to look clean, fresh, and fit for purpose. A buyer won't want to see loose fixings, or drawers that don't close properly. When selling your home, ensure that the kitchen is in very good order. If your kitchen is a little outdated, all you might need to do is to replace the cabinet doors, lay new floor covering, and paint the walls. This can transform a kitchen from one that looks old and tired into one that clinches the sale.

Bathroom

The bathroom comes a close second to the kitchen in terms of importance when selling your home. A buyer knows that what's in this room -- as with the kitchen -- he or she is going to have to live with (unless they are prepared to remodel it themselves). Again, as with the kitchen, it doesn't take a great deal of effort and money for the bathroom to look good. A potential buyer won't be impressed with cracked tiles or a grubby shower curtain -- it's vital that this room looks clean. Anything in this room that doesn't should be replaced.

The Yard

Don't neglect the yard, especially the front yard. First impressions are important, and it doesn't matter how wonderful your house is looking, if the front yard looks unkempt then a potential buyer will step through your front door looking for faults. Get off on the right foot when it comes to staging your home, and have the yard looking good enough that a buyer wants to see more of what's on offer.

The Small Things

Small, inexpensive touches can create a good impression when selling your home. A vase of wonderfully scented flowers strategically placed in an entryway, such as the hallway, can work wonders. A vase of flowers will also add an elegant touch to a dining room.

Eliminate all bad odors from your home -- buyers don't just use their eyes to make a decision. A coat of paint can not only brighten up a room, but can leave a fresh smell that will signal to any buyer that the house is clean.

All it takes is time and effort, and perhaps a little expenditure, when it comes to getting your house looking good -- a sound investment when it results in a quick sale.

Tips On How To Successfully Groom Your Dog

If you're like most dog owners, you not only want to look good but you also want your canine companion to look good too. The key to having a dog that looks good is to make sure that he is clean, healthy, and properly groomed. However, professional dog grooming can be quite expensive. In fact, the typical groomer charges a whopping $25 or more to wash, dry and cut the fur of a small Poodle. I don't know about you but that is a lot of money for such a small dog. Heck, for me to go to the beauty shop costs only $30 for a full service style. So, what can a concerned dog owner do? You can groom your dog yourself and save a ton! In this brief article, I'll teach you how to successfully groom your precious dog.

First of all, you have to purchase the right supplies. Here are some things you'll need:

- The right dog shampoo and conditioner specially formulated for your dog. For instance, if you have a white dog and want to keep his coat shiny and bright then you should purchase shampoo and conditioner specifically for white haired dogs. On the same token, puppies should have tear-free puppy shampoo.

– Dog comb and brush (A mason or slicker brush works great for long haired dogs).

- Electric clippers and clipper blades for dogs

- Doggie nail clippers

- Doggie toothpaste

- Doggie treats

- Towels, cotton balls, alcohol or other drying agents to ensure that your dog doesn't get an ear infection.

Second, groom your dog about once a week. If you have a puppy, start grooming him while he is young so that he gets used to the grooming process. During your grooming session, carefully evaluate your dog to ensure that he's healthy. For instance, you should check his ears for signs of infection, evaluate him for lumps, check his limbs, paws, and other body parts.

Third, trim your dog's nails while making sure that they are long enough to touch the ground when he is walking. To trim his nails, you must put him in a comfortable position and then extend each nail while looking for the quick (the part of the nail that gets darker). Be extremely careful not to trim close to the quick. With darker nails, it will be harder to see the quick so make sure that you use adequate light.

Fourth, comb and brush out your dog from the top of your dog's head all the way to the tail. If you come acro women's coats ss any mats, you can gently comb them out. If they are too bad, you may have to shave him or have them removed by a professional. Either way, you'll need to comb him thoroughly before washing.

Fifth, you should shampoo him with your favorite doggie shampoo. To do so, put cotton in his ears to make sure that you don't get water or soap inside his ear canal. If you have a long haired dogs or one that is prone to ear infections, you may want to put in a prescribed drying agent which you'll put inside his ears to help dry out any left over moisture. Next, you'll put your dog in a shallow tub and add warm water. Carefully put on the shampoo and keep the water and shampoo out of his eyes. You'll then gently lather him up, rinse him off and then put on conditioner and repeat the entire process. During rinsing, make sure that no residue remains which will prevent dry, flaky or irritated skin.

Sixth, dry him off with a warm towel or a blow dryer. If you use a blow dryer, use a low heat setting so that you don't burn him. Also, steer clear of his eyes and use your brush and comb while drying him off.

Once he's dry, brush his teeth. To do so, put a bit of doggie toothpaste in his mouth, run your fingers along his gums and then repeat gently with the doggie toothbrush being careful not to brush too vigorously. Work the teeth and the gum lines.

Last but not least, give your dog a yummy treat for surviving his home grooming procedure. This will reward him for his participation and help him look forward to these types of grooming sessions in the future.

In conclusion, you can professionally groom your dog at home. You simply have to be willing to take your time and have the right supplies. Once you do this, you'll have the best looking dog on the block and a wad full of cash as well from all the money you saved from doing it yourself.

How To Get A Huge Bang For Your Kitchen Renovation Buck

Kitchens can cost a lot of money. And people who buy them rarely get the money back at resale in even in good real estate markets.

But there are things you can do that will cost less money and still get you a reasonable return. A return means that you actually get a buyer and a decent price for your house, and make more than you spent.

1. Find a way to open your kitchen to the dining room and family room. In many older ranches and split-level homes it may be as easy as taking out the upper cabinets between the kitchen and breakfast area. Be careful about taking out walls. If they are load bearing walls your house might fall on you. You can pay a professional for it and then handle the rest yourself.
2. Many older homes have good quality solid wood cabinets that are better than what you could purchase new to replace them. Explore alternatives like painting or stripping paint and other refinishing options.

Watch out for lead paint. Many older homes have it and it requires expert removal. Lead paint was outlawed in 1978. If your house is older than that it might have it. It is a hazardous, though natural substance that can cause permanent brain damage. Surprise! "Natural" stuff can hurt you, both adults and children. Check it out online and act accordingly.
3. You can buy good stuff second hand. One of the cutest kitchens I ever saw was built from a nice assortment of second hand furniture. You can even buy nice cabinets second hand. Second hand windows and doors can become china cabinets for the dining room.
4. A big pantry makes excellent storage for a kitchen for very little money. A pantry about 5 feet square has room for a small chest freezer and plenty of shelving for things that don't fit in cabinets or canned foods. Shelves that are not too deep work best. An effective cabinet can be as shallow as 3.75" with a door between 2 studs.
5. You can create the look of a custom kitchen by finishing off the ends of you cabinets and the backs of islands and peninsulas. It's a subtlety that people will notice but maybe not understand. It says "quality" without costing a lot of money.
6. Don't break the bank buying granite. That stuff i fashion jackets s expensive and it's not very green either. Try papercrete, recycled marble or other stone, bamboo butcher block, ceramic tile, stone tile or anything that is on the cheaper side of materials. You can also paint or skim coat existing counter tops.
7. A nice cook top and 2 separate stacked ovens are generally cheaper than the big commercial ranges. Buy energy star rated appliances and save big dollars every day. You might even find them second hand.

So there you are. These are all my favorite ways to save and still have a nice kitchen. We once refaced a whole big kitchen with 46 door and drawer panels for $1,200. We had a cabinetmaker make the doors and then spray painted them ourselves. It helped our home sell and close in 6 weeks when we decided to move. The previous owners had it for sale for over 2 years with the old tired 80s style cabinets. Faster resale says you don't have to keep making payments. Many house payments are more than we spent on our kitchen.

Experience Balance in Your Life

Imagine - You walk into a beautiful lobby, filled with colorful flowers, peaceful colors and a light scent of lavender. The receptionist takes your coat, shows you to a changing room and hands you a thick terry cloth robe and slippers that you change into. You pass the sauna and steam room as you leisurely make your way to a chaise lounge close to the hot tub by the indoor pool. Someone offers you a cup of hot tea while you wait for your massage appointment. You sip your tea and listen to the quiet and then – You Wake Up!

Can you see yourself relaxing like this? Maybe not! We all have such hectic and stressful lives these days that even imagining taking time for ourselves kicks the guilt trip into gear. With obligations to children, spouse, work and family, ta women's coats king time out for you probably seems like a luxury for another life.

But the truth is, you need to take care of yourself before you can really do your best taking care of others. By taking care of yourself first, you create an internal balance allowing you to create more space to help others. Nurture yourself first so you know how to nurture others.

This is not selfishness. On the contrary, it is ensuring that you bring balance to your life so that you are able to more effectively share yourself and include everything you want as a fulfilled human being.

There are three aspects to nurture for balance:

Emotional/Mental: Your emotional and mental well-being is critical before you can help others. Feeling good about yourself, is important and necessary to helping others without draining yourself at the same time. Taking a mental break, relaxing and having fun will increase the joy in your life. Consider investing in your appearance with a new outfit or a new hairstyle, which can provide the type of nurturing that often leads to increased self-confidence.

Physical: Provide your body with the nutrition it needs to function properly. If you know you're not getting the nutrients you need, consider researching supplements to determine if they can assist you in maintaining your health. Taking time to relax and enjoy your food will contribute towards a more healthy digestive process. A healthy body also requires fitting physical activity into your schedule. Listening to music while walking the dog, gardening or doing chores, will help you relax while you burn calories at the same time. Just make sure you do something every day and that it's relaxing for you. And remember, small steps add up to big ones.

Spiritual: Developing and nurturing your connection with source provides your soul with nourishment and supports the other two aspects of a balanced life. Whether meditating, praying or attending church services, spiritual self-care helps you to find or reaffirm your purpose and keeps you in touch with your values. Take time to relax and be grateful for the many wonderful things in your life.

Nurture these three aspects of your life and invest in your well being so that you can continue to support others with a loving heart. Be kind to yourself so you can be kind to others. Whether it's an hour to get your hair done, yoga or meditation class, a long hot bath with no kids knocking at the door, taking the time you need to refresh yourself is worth it. By being more balanced, emotionally/mentally, physically and spiritually, not only will you benefit, but also so will those you love.

Choosing The Right Pet

People may use several methods for choosing a pet, but most people will select the right pet by following a gut instinct that lets them know that the animal women's jackets would be perfect for a family. Some people follow the same gut instinct and decline ownership of a pet based on the animal's behavior or size. Every pet owner will have a personal preference that they base their pet decisions by and rely on luck or good fortune to be able to bring the right animal home.

The pet adoption process might have a great deal of influence on the type of pet that is approved for adoption. Some animal control agencies have certain requirements that must be met in order for the adoption to be approved. Some pet adoptions do not take place because the owner is unable to afford the adoption fees. The adoption process can be heartbreaking when a pet adoption is not approved and some pet owners might wonder why the process is so hard.

The requirements set by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals make choosing the right pet for the right home a top priority because if the match is not a good one, the owner will return the pet to the shelter one day. While the pet owners are at the shelter, they might visit each stall where dogs are kept, hoping to find the dog or cat that is perfect for them. The latest choices for pet adoption might be more extensive this time around, and the right pet will be found.

If a more likeable animal is present, the selection process will start again. The pet owners will begin the process with expectations that are more realistic. The size of the dog might be reduced somewhat, and the coloring of the animals coat will be less important. The pet owners might place personality traits higher on the list and the fact that a small dog will eat less will be viewed differently too. One pet is likely to be selected that day, and the SPCA will ensure that this selection sticks by allowing the pet owners to spend time with the animal before walking out the door with it.

Some pet adoption agencies require a fenced in yard for any adoption for a dog. The size of the dog does not matter or the fact that the animal will be restricted to living inside the house at all times. A prospective pet owner may fall in love with a dachshund breed on a Humane Society pet adoption website and with one telephone call, the future pet owner's hopes will be doused because there is no fenced yard for the animal to play in each day. With so many pets eligible for adoption, some pet owners believe that adoption rules should be edited on a case by case basis.

Some animals are high-energy breeds and require a large amount of space to exercise in. A pet owner with limited space might have to accommodate the rules and invest in fencing around the back of the home. If the animal is the right pet, the pet owner should not mind this inconvenience. Other requirements are viewed as obstacles to pet ownership. Puppies and kittens cannot be left alone all day while the owners go to work. If nobody is able to be at home, then the pet adoption rules state that the adoption will be denied. Finding the right pet is worth the time, but complying with rules and regulations can take away from the joy of pet ownership.

Six Biggest Brands for Women's Wellington Rain Boots

Waterproof Boots for Women can come in two main styles. First is wellington rain boots "Wellies" and the second is outdoor/winter boots. Wellies are single piece cast rubber boots. They are 100% waterproof but don't necessarily breathe that well and are not great to walk in long distances. Outdoor/Winter boots are typically made from waterproof leather and can be insulated, are designed to keep you dry and warm while providing comfort while walking. Both can sometimes end up in the same search if you are searching for Women's waterproof boots, but both really belong in different categories as they have very different purposes. Discussed in this article are some of the biggest brands you will come across when searching for Wellington boots and how the brands differ.

Fanshoes - Fanshoes is the largest contributor to the women's waterproof footwear category solely because of the number of unique patterns, however, they really only have one style which is a traditional rubber rain boot, but the boots can be printed in various team colors and patterns making them great for students or sports fans who want to promote their team even during wet weather. Expect to pay $50 a pair unless on clearance or you are currently in the off season.

Tretorn - While not making as many patterns as the Fanshoes, Tretorn makes more boot designs. They differ from Fanshoes in not being team oriented, but also in more work and warmth oriented. Find a better tread for working, and the boots come with a fleece liner to keep them warmer and make them more comfortable. A better choice if you want functionality rather than expression.

Bogs - While third on the list in terms of size, BOGS footwear is top of my personal list of Women's Waterproof boots because of quality and functionality. BOGS footwear for women is made with bright and fashionable colors and patterns for expression, but provides the best technologies for keeping you warm, comfortable, and dry. Their boots come lined with either air mesh linings for ventilation or fleece for comfort and warmth. In addition, they make neoprene insulated styles when you are going into extreme weather. You would not think waterproof boots could be so warm, comfortable, and breathe so well.

Muck Boots - Muck boots are also a fantastic choice when you need functionality. Made with stretch nylon uppers that are 100% waterproof and rubber on the bottom these boots are made to keep you warm and dry while remaining easy to work in. While the most expensive on the list, these are the top choice when warmth is also an important consideration.

Sperry Top-Sider - Sperry Top-Sider makes deck shoes and other footwear, which includes 100% waterproof. If you've ever been boating, you can appreciate the importance of 100% waterproof and having a great rubber sole for traction. Sperry Top-Sider boots combine both in healthy selection of patterns and styles.

Wedge Welly - Thi fashion jackets online s brand rounds out our list as a fashionable and modern style of waterproof rain boot. As implied by the name, their entire collection of waterproof rain boots has a wedge heel making them fashionable and functional. A unique brand offering a footwear not seen with any of the other brands I've come across.

While this review focuses on rubber rain boots (Galoshes and Wellingtons), if you were looking for waterproof leather boots for hiking or winter, some styles to consider include Asolo, Ariat, Timberland, Merrell, and the Superior Boot Company to name a few.

Selecting a good pair of Womens Rain Boots requires deciding on functionality. Do you just need something to keep your feet dry when you run a few errands or do you plan to be working in wet and cold conditions. If you expect to be working in these conditions, stick with brands such as Muck Boots, Bogs, or Tretorn.

How Cashmere Goats Changed Fashion

Cashmere wool is characteristically known by its soft fibres that are also strong and light and are obtained by the Cashmere goat on their downy winter undercoat. The undercoat grows as the day length shortens and grows with another outer coat of hair which is coarser. China is the largest producer of the fine down as it has an estimated population of 123 million goats. The fine hair in the down allows for light weight insulation without the weight like many other materials used to keep warm.

Naturally the goat's hair has to be separated as the finer hair has to have the thick hair removed, this process is called de-hairing and after this is done, the resulting wool is ready to be dyed and made into fabrics for garments. In some parts of the world the wool is mainly collected during the spring when the goats moult its winter coat due to the heat. The actual hair removing process does not harm the goats and the hair is merely combed by hand to remove the soft hair that is desired. The thicker coat can also be used for products such as brushes. Goats in parts of the world such as New Zealand are shorn of their fleece much like sheep are and this produces less fine hair than the combing process.

Historically, the usable fibre within cashmere is also known as pashm, which is the Persian word for wool. In the early 19th century the fine wool had a large industry producing handmade shawls that were imported from Tibet. These shawls were introduced into Western Europe by the French and created a large impression in the fashion and plans to produce more were immediately made. The French claim to have one of the first European companies that began to commercially spin cashmere. Imported wool was beaten with sticks and de-haired by children.

Eventually the French imported the goats themselves and had them sent to Australia for production and by 1830 the production had become important factor to the Scottish industry. The Scottish wanted to produce the wool like the French and had offered a financial reward to the first Scottish person that could spin the wool much like they were creating in France. By 1831 Scotland too was producing the manufacture of pashm wool as well as France.

By 1933, Pringle of Scotland was making fashionable wool sweaters but it was America that made the most impact on fashion with the cashmere sweater, worn by Lana Turner in the film 'They Won't Forget.' The phrase 'sweater girl' was then coined and women often had a twin set of their wool garments. During the forties and fifties teenage girls wou women's jackets ld wear their sweaters backwards, with the buttons done up at the back and this trend was all followed in the college fashion of the time.

Cashmere today is still popular and is associated with being considered luxurious, as most products that are made with it are expensive. Also comparatively to sheep's wool it is both warmer and softer, two characteristics which make it a preferred material. It is enjoyed as many clothing items and is considered fashionable on both men and women. Many designers have worked with the material to produce different clothing articles to suit fashion in different time periods, although it is thought of as timeless classic.

Door To Door Sales Training | Should You Look Like A Salesperson?

As we teach in our door to door sales training, your appearance is a big factor in wherether you get in or not.

When you are home relaxing and enjoying yourself, and there's a knock at the door, and you look outside and see a salesperson what is the first thing that comes to your mind? If you're like most of us what comes to your mind is "I'm not interested". Oddly, even though most of us feel this way almost all door-to-door salespeople are taught to go to the door looking like a salesperson.

I mean were taught to go to the door with picture ID, a briefcase maybe wearing a suit or carrying a special book or display kit. It just screams out, "I'm a salesperson and I'm here to take your money". So, in this article, I want to explore the question: "what if you didn't look like a salesperson?" Would you sell more if you didn't look like a salesperson? Would you have more time to talk to them if they didn't scream, "I'm not interested" before you even knocked on the door? Let's take a look at a few possibilities.

Now let's picture you are home and there is a knock at the door. You look out the window and you see someone dressed in a white lab coat. They could be a doctor, they could be from the health department. Right away, you're curious as to what is going on. It makes the homeowner want to open the door. Now in addition to an item like a lab coat, what if you carried your props and forms in something that would go with what you're portraying? For example, if you w fashion coats ere wearing a lab coat what if you're props and forms were in a bag that looks like the type of bag doctors carry when they're making a house call? If a person dressed in a lab coat with a doctor bag knocked on the door would you answer it? Would you be interested? Would it arouse your curiosity? This approach may not be for everyone but it certainly something to consider.

Let's say you sell home security systems. What if you arrived at the door dressed in a security guard uniform? It wouldn't necessarily be misleading. Your company does have security guards probably. Is a person more likely to answer the door if a security guard knocks or if a salesperson knocks?

I actually got this idea because a couple weeks ago an officer from the Air Force knocked on my door. I couldn't wait answer to find out when he wanted. It turned out he was doing a security clearance check of a neighboring just wanted ask a couple questions, but when I opened the door I didn't have "I'm not interested" in my mind.

Let's take the example of cable TV. If you go to the door as a salesperson selling cable TV they're probably not interested. If they were interested they would've called you. But if you came to the door in an HBO jacket or a Disney jacket or even something that just says "survey crew" on your hat or on your jacket, that causes curiosity. Curiosity gets doors open.

So, don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting you impersonate police officers or do anything that you be ashamed of. But, I am suggesting that if you don't look like a salesperson with a pen in your pocket and a briefcase, you're much more likely to get the door open. Every product or service you sell it the door might be enhanced by not dressing like a salesperson.

Given some it thought and see if it's for you. Thinking outside the box of door to door sales training can often get you inside the door.
